The great thing about playing hand held console games is that they are portable and easy to install right off the bat. Most importantly, you can convert your cartridge games into ROM files which can be stored into your SD memory card and be played without the need of the physical video game cartridge. You can even download nds roms that will automatically play in your hand held gaming console.

So what exactly is a ROM? A ROM is basically an image file that contains copy of the game data from a read-online memory chip. Most of the time, they are made from video games. You can easily install them into your Nintendo DS. Here is how you will install it.

- First download nds roms that you want to play. You can also extract and convert your game cartridges using ROM converters.

- Once you have downloaded them, you need to unzip the files and extract the data using unzipping software like WinRAR or Winzip. Don’t worry because they are freewares.

- After unzipping, remove your MicroSD card from your DS Lite and plug it into the gaming cartridge USB Adapter. After doing that, plug in the adapter to your laptop or computer through the USB port.

- Go to the folder where you extracted the ROM files and copy the .NDS file that you unzipped and paste it to the root folder of the MicroSD. It is very important that you don’t paste it into any inner folders of the memory card and make sure to paste it directly into the root folder.

- After copying the files, you can safely remove the USB external drive and attach back the MicroSD card to your DS Lite.

After doing such, you will be able to play your DS Lite game into your DS Lite without the need of any gaming cartridge. You can add more or install nds games by just following the same instruction on downloading and installing NDS games.
