Three Tips To Save Money On A Laptop

April 28th, 2010 by Kim

It’s always exciting when you make the decision to trade in your current laptop for a shiny new one. You’re thinking about all the new things you’ll be able to do, the speed of the new machine, and the fact that you’ll have a brand new laptop without tiny bits of snack food stuck under the keys. Once the vision ends, though, the nagging begins. Where do you start? And what are some money saving tips?

1. Be honest with yourself. Do you really need a top of the line laptop when you’ll only use it for email and to check Google news? Don’t make the costly mistake of buying too much laptop. Make a list of what you absolutely need in a laptop. Not want. We’re talking about saving money here. Understanding what you really need when researching laptops for sale, goes a long way towards that goal.

2. Okay, you made the list. You remembered you weren’t a world-class online gamer or a Pentagon official. Basically, you need something with an on button and a word processing program. Where do you get it? Online. Now, you could find a great bargain at a big box store, but if you read the fine print you’ll find out it’s only for the first three customers on the second Thursday of next month and only if they’re wearing green. Generally speaking you will not beat online deals, especially for very cheap laptops.

3. Try refurbished laptops. Many of them come with warranties, and if you buy from a reputable manufacturer, you are basically getting a brand new laptop for about half the price.

The above are three tips you want to follow to save money on your next laptop. Use them wisely, and you can enjoy your new machine knowing you didn’t have to spend a ton of money to get it.
